Designer fragrance is big business and since the first perfume was bottled back in France in the early 19th century by the legendary perfume houses of Guerlain and others, the perfume industry has flourished immensely and enjoys significant popularity and recognition in the present day. Celebrity signature scents are one aspect of this industry that has gained an enormous amount of success in recent times as more and celebrities are adding their names to their own perfume products.
In the US alone the fragrance industry is worth well over $22 billion dollars, and celebrities signing their names to various scents is a way for them to get a piece of that big pie. The question is are the celebrity scents worth the sometimes high price tag and worth the many positive perfume reviews they receive?
In reality, many are just as high in quality and involve as much research and development as the most expensive of French and designer brands. And, in reality, the success of a fragrance is not so pragmatic, nor does it matter what celebrity might be endorsing it since that is just the hook. The popularity of perfume really lies in the senses and that woman who first takes a sniff and thinks I have to have this, no matter the price.
As far as celebrity fragrances go it’s really a matter of figuring out if you are paying for the celebrity’s name or the perfume itself. While some are fairly basic scents that are similar to many other cheaper brands, there are those that are very unique, classic and unique, for which the celebrity herself had creative and design input.

Glow By JLo
The very successful actor, mother and recording star JLo still finds time to endorse her own fragrance. Glow is one of the best celebrity scents available today and its popularity reflects that. Halle By Halle Berry
Halle Berry, the Academy Award winning actress has several perfumes under her name, including, Reveal and Halle. Halle is my personal favorite and is comprised of the sensual and sweet scent of orchids. The adds claim pure orchid and they do not lie. And, while Halle is technically a floral scent, it maintains a maturity and ethereal presence that is far beyond the playful and young scent of most florals. It’s rich, sexy and romantic.
Paris Hilton Fragrance By Paris Hilton
This is a very sweet and floral fragrance that maybe too similar to other similar types of scents on the market. A nice blend of sandalwood, jasmine, mimosa, and lily. It has a high price tag, and many wonder if its worth it, that really depends on your. Perfume is such a personal choice, so go try it and decide if its the one that makes you stir.

One of the top recording artists in the music industry has a perfume called Sensational. The top notes include frozen pear, apple along with plum. The middle notes are comprised of orris and mimosa, both very sensual and high energy, and also some jasmine and freesia. The base notes add some spice with amber, musk and sandalwood. Many reviews from ladies who love it describe it as floral, clear and modern.
The above reviews of celebrity fragrances are just the tip of the iceberg. There are many more signature scents by various types of celebrities that are enjoying a lot of popularity in the very competitive perfume market.
